These grilled cheese roll ups are such an easy lunch idea for kids. It’s a cute spin on the classic grilled cheese sandwich.

I was going to say that these grilled cheese roll ups are perfect for kids but the truth is that I’m 37 and I love them, too! They’re great for dunking into tomato soup or ketchup if that’s your thing.

If you do want to get the kids involved this is a great little recipe for them, too. I haven’t met a kid yet who doesn’t like grilled cheese.

Grilled cheese roll ups is a recipe that everyone can do together and enjoy equally.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Slices of White Bread (as many as you want to make)
  • American Cheese (2 slices per slice of bread)
  • Butter
  • Rolling Pin
  • Frying Pan
  • Toothpicks (optional)

Here’s how to do it:

First you’ll have to remove the crust off the bread with either a knife or if you’re involving the kids- put their little fingers to work and have them rip the crust off. Using a rolling pin- flatten the slices of bread.

Next, place two slices of cheese on the bread.

Now Jenny roll up the bread and press down. If you’re having a hard time here- just place a tooth pick in to secure it. Just don’t forget to remove it before eating.

Now place them in a frying pan, heat up a tbs or two of butter & add the grilled cheese roll up seam side down

Then cook for a few minutes on each side until it’s golden all around.

Finally remove the grilled cheese roll up from the pan. Let them cool slightly (don’t forget those toothpicks if you used them). Serve alone, with a dipping sauce or soup.

These are an awesome spin on the classic grilled cheese sandwich. Its a little more work then a traditional grilled cheese but well worth the effort if you ask me.

I hope you guys (and the kids If they help) like this one.
