Easy English Muffin Pizzas
From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito
These easy English muffin pizzas were the very first recipe that I ever made when I was a kid.

Our 1st grade teacher had the whole class make this recipe as a little cooking lesson.
I’ve been making them ever since.

As a matter of fact, I now make them with my own kids and they love them, too.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that they’re so easy that even a kid could do it.

And easy recipes like this are right up my alley.
You could eat these for a quick snack, lunch or even dinner.
Just throw them together in no time and they’re done in about 10 minutes.

These easy English muffin pizzas are such a classic childhood recipe.
I know if you try them that they’ll be an instant hit in your family, too.

Easy English muffin pizza tip
These pizzas are so easy to make but my biggest tip is to lightly toast the English muffins first.
Please don’t skip that step.

If the English muffins aren’t toasted first, they will get soggy once the tomato sauce goes in them.
What tomato sauce should I use?
The choice is really up to you.
I like to use my own tomato sauce recipe if I have some in the fridge but I wouldn’t go out of my way to make it just for this either.

You can use your own tomato sauce recipe or buy a jar of sauce, too.
Whatever is easier for you will work just fine.
Do I really have to shred my own cheese?
Yes, absolutely!
This is the one thing that I’d really urge you not to take a shortcut on.

Pres-shredded bagged cheese has chemicals in it like cellulose.
This keeps the cheese from clumping but it also prevents it from melting properly.

So be sure to shred the cheese off the block.
What to serve with easy English muffin pizzas
Sides are completely up to you as always.
If you’re serving these as an after school snack I’d say to leave them as is and serve them alone.

As a dinner, you may want to add some veggies in the side.
Here are a couple easy vegetable side dishes that are perfect.

- Frozen Green Beans
- Ranch Butter Corn
- Garlic Parmesan Roasted Broccoli
- Parmesan Crusted Brussels Sprouts

Easy English Muffin Pizza Ingredients:

- English Muffins
- Tomato Sauce jarred or use my easy tomato sauce recipe.
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Instructions:
First, break the English muffins in half by using either your fingers or a fork and lightly toast them.

Next, add some tomato sauce to each top of the english muffin.

Now add some shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce and some basil/parsley if you’d like.

This is the time to add toppings if you want.

Its finally time to bake it in the oven! Just let them cool off for a little and you’re ready to eat.
