Can I use frozen brussels sprouts?
Yes you can use frozen brussels sprouts for this casserole recipe.

Just be sure to defrost them first.
What cheese can I use?
I used a mix of Gouda and mozzarella for this recipe and really loved it.
If you can’t find or don’t like Gouda you can use Swiss cheese instead.

All mozzarella or all Gouda would be great, too for this recipe.
Do I really have to shred the cheese myself?
Yes, absolutely!
This is the one thing that I’d really urge you not to take a shortcut on.

Pre-shredded bagged cheese has chemicals in it like cellulose.
This keeps the cheese from clumping but it also prevents it from melting properly.

Shred the cheese off the block. This side dish will be much creamier.
