Melt the butter and olive oil together in a large skillet and add the onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes or until the onion is soft.
Once the onion is soft, add the minced garlic, red pepper flakes and 1 tbs of Italian seasoning. Sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.
Next, add the wine and let it gently boil over medium high heat for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes and season them with salt, pepper, 1 tbs garlic powder and the rest of the Italian seasoning.
Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes then stir in the shredded basil.
Add the shrimp to a small bowl and season them with salt, pepper, 1 Tbs of garlic powder and paprika. Stir the shrimp and seasoning together until the shrimp are evenly coated.
Stir the shrimp into the tomato sauce over medium/ medium high heat until they begin to turn pink and curl.
Turn the heat down to low and garnish with either more fresh basil.
Finally, serve alone or over pasta. Enjoy!
