Shrimp Fra Diavolo

Shrimp fra diavolo is a delicious seafood dinner made by cooking seasoned jumbo shrimp in a spicy, flavorful tomato sauce.

Ingredients
  

  • 32 Oz Bag Jumbo Shrimp, cleaned and deveined
  • 2 Tbs Butter
  • 1 Tbs Olive Oil
  • 1 Small Onion, chopped
  • 4 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2-4 Tbs Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 2 Tbs Italian Seasoning
  • ½ Cup Red or White Wine
  • 28 Oz Can Crushed Tomatoes
  • 1 Tbs Paprike
  • 2 Tbs Garlic Powder
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Fresh Basil, shredded (plus some for garnish, optional)

Instructions
 

  • Melt the butter and olive oil together in a large skillet and add the onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes or until the onion is soft.
  • Once the onion is soft, add the minced garlic, red pepper flakes and 1 tbs of Italian seasoning. Sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Next, add the wine and let it gently boil over medium high heat for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  • Stir in the crushed tomatoes and season them with salt, pepper, 1 tbs garlic powder and the rest of the Italian seasoning.
  • Let the sauce simmer for about 10 minutes then stir in the shredded basil.
  • Add the shrimp to a small bowl and season them with salt, pepper, 1 Tbs of garlic powder and paprika. Stir the shrimp and seasoning together until the shrimp are evenly coated.
  • Stir the shrimp into the tomato sauce over medium/ medium high heat until they begin to turn pink and curl.
  • Turn the heat down to low and garnish with either more fresh basil.
  • Finally, serve alone or over pasta. Enjoy!
