Wasabi Mashed Potatoes
Wasabi mashed potatoes are a delicious, spicy side dish made by making traditional mashed potatoes and mixing in some wasabi sauce.
Course Side Dish
Cuisine American
- 1.5-2 lbs Russet Potatoes, peeled and diced into 1-2” pieces
- 1 stick Butter, melted
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 tbs Garlic Powder
- ¼ cup Wasabi Sauce
- Chives or Dried Parsley for garnish (optional)
Add the potatoes to a large sauce pan and cover them in salter water.
Bring the water to a boil and let the potatoes cook until fork tender. This should take about 12-15 minutes.
Meanwhile, in a sauce pan, melt the butter over medium low heat and stir in the heavy cream.
Drain the potatoes and add them to a large bowl. Season the potatoes with salt, pepper, garlic powder and add the cream and butter mixture.
Mash the potatoes together with the other ingredients until they reach a consistency that you’re happy with.
Stir in the wasabi sauce until it’s evenly combined into the mashed potatoes. Be sure to taste them and add more wasabi sauce if you’d like them a little more spicy.
Finally, serve warm and garnish with chives or dried parsley (if desired). Enjoy!
