Equipment

  • large pot with a lid

Ingredients

  • 1 Box Medium Shells Pasta
  • 4 Tbs Butter
  • 1 Small Onion, diced
  • 4 Cloves Garlic, minced
  • 4 Cups Chicken Broth
  • 2 Cups Heavy Cream
  • 1.5 Cups Broccoli Florets, chopped small
  • ¾ Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1 Tbs Garlic Powder

Instructions

  • In a large pot, melt the butter over medium high heat and add the diced onion. Lightly season it with salt and pepper and add the minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is soft.
  • Add the chicken broth and heavy cream and season with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Bring the liquid up to a boil and stir in the pasta. Lid the pot and cook the pasta over medium high heat for 5 minutes.
  • Now, stir in the chopped broccoli florets. Lid the pot again and cook the pasta and broccoli together for another 4 minutes or until they're both cooked and tender.
  • Stir in the parmesan cheese, place the lid back on and turn the heat off. Allow the sauce to thicken for about 2-3 minutes.
  • Re season the pasta with the salt, pepper and garlic powder, if needed. Give it one more big stir to combine everything together, serve warm and enjoy.
