Red Velvet Earthquake Cake

From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

Red velvet earthquake cake is a delicious mixture of flavors and textures that you’re guaranteed to fall in love with.

This cake is truly impossible not to love. I thought I hit the lottery with this Chocolate Earthquake Cake recipe.

Little did I know that this red velvet version would rival it. They are both absolutely incredible.

Also, very pretty to look at if I do say so myself. Just look at those gorgeous colors.

The cracks and creases of this cake mixed with the cream cheese swirl and melted chocolate chips make for an impressive appearance for sure.

Desserts like this that are super easy to put together and require very little effort are right up my alley.

I made this for my son’s play date and the boys couldn’t get enough of it.

It was a huge hit with them and everyone that I’ve made it for. It’s a must make!

I hope you give this recipe a try. If you do, I know you’ll love it just as much as my family and I do.

Red Velvet Earthquake Cake Variations

I like this cake recipe made just the way it is but here are some ways to change it up if you’d like to.

  • Nuts- chopped pecans or walnuts would both be ok to use here.
  • Chocolate Chips- Dark, milk or white chocolate are all great choices for this.
  • Cake Batter- Although this is a red velvet version of earthquake cake chocolate cake mix can be used also. ?
