From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

I have always loved a good Big Mac from McDonald’s. But seriously, who doesn’t? There’s just something about that sauce, the pickles, and the beef that hits the spot every time. So I figured why not turn it into a cozy casserole for my family.
This is such a fun little spin on the classic Big Mac. It’s one of those dinners that my kids actually get excited about. It’s easy, filling, and perfect for a busy weekday dinner. When you want something comforting but simple to throw together.

- Thousand Island Dressing – Brings that classic “Big Mac sauce” flavor.
- Mayonnaise – Adds creaminess and balances the tang from the dressing and pickles.
- Onion – Gives subtle sweetness and that traditional burger taste.

How To Make It
Here’s how to make this awesome dinner. You can find the full ingredients list with instructions on the recipe card below.
Preheat the oven to 400°
First, in a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter and add the ground beef. Cook until browned then drain any excess grease. Stir in the Thousand Island dressing, mayonnaise, diced onion, chopped pickles, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix until fully combined.

Now, transfer the beef mixture to a greased 9 x 13” baking dish and spread it out evenly. Layer the sliced American Cheese evenly over the top.
PRO TIP: Be sure to grab the American Cheese from your local deli department and avoid the pre packaged single slices. It will melt much better that way.

Next, arrange the frozen tater tots evenly over the cheese layer. Place it into the center rack of the over for 40–45 minutes or until the tots are golden brown and crispy. Let it rest for 5 minutes, garnish with shredded lettuce and enjoy.
PRO TIP: Add the shredded lettuce right before serving so it stays crisp and fresh.

Can I Make This Ahead Of Time?
Yes, you can. Just assemble everything except the tater tots, cover, and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Add the tots right before baking so they stay crispy.
Can I Use Ground Turkey Instead Of Beef?
Absolutely, you can. Ground turkey works well if you want something a little lighter. Just be sure to season it well since it’s leaner.
Storage
Let the casserole cool and place it into a food safe container. It will last in the fridge for up to three days.
