Jalapeno Popper Dip

From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

This jalapeno popper dip is the ultimate crowd pleasing party appetizer.

Everyone always love this recipe whenever I make it. Even my kids eat this one, too.

It has everything you love about traditional jalapeno poppers without the hassle of having to stuff each individual pepper.

This recipe has just a little bit of heat but it’s not too spicy for children or for people who can’t tolerate spicy foods.

Feel free to pump that heat up though if you’d like to with some suggestions that I’ve mentioned below.

I love making this for parties, barbecues, game days or to just eat as a snack at home.

I hope you give this one a try. If you do, I know you’ll love it just as much as my friends and family do.

Fast. Simple. Delicious.

Jalapeno popper recipe variations

I like this recipe as it is but here are some ways to change it if you’d like to.

  • Spicy- if you’d like to add more heat, add more diced jalapeños and green chilis to the mix. Jalapeño cream cheese and pepper jack cheese can be added also to really amp it up.
  • Bacon- cooked and crumbed bacon is an ingredient for this dip but feel free to omit it if you’d like. To save time precooked bacon would work here, too.
  • Cream cheese- to add an extra layer of flavor use a flavored cream cheese like jalapeno, vegetable or garlic and herb. Just be sure that it’s room temperature to make it easier to mix.
  • Cheese- I used mozzarella and cheddar for this recipe but use whatever kind of cheese you’d like. Any kind will work here.
  • Fritos- I used Frito scoops for this dip but feel free to use whatever kind of chips that you’d like. Just make sure that whatever chip you choose is sturdy enough to support it.
