Pasta and peas or Pasta e Piselli is a traditional Italian dish made with frozen peas, toasted, buttery breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese served over pasta for a no fuss dinner that the whole family will love.

Pasta And Peas

From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

Pasta and peas is the ultimate hassle free dinner that the whole family will be happy to gather around the dinner table for.

It couldn’t be easier to make and all of the ingredients are pantry staples that I usually already have on hand.

I love simple Italian recipes like this that require minimal ingredients that all pack an important punch.

You can truly taste each and every one and they all go together to create this delicious meal.

We are big pasta eaters at my house. I’m always looking for recipes that include a vegetable because I know my kids will eat them if pasta is involved.

This recipe is perfect! I can have this on the table in no time and it takes practically no effort on my part.

Some pasta recipes I’ve categorized in my mind as either “summer” or “winter” meals.

This one is fantastic because it’s hearty enough to keep us full during those cold months but also light enough to be served in the summer time.

It’s one of those recipes that teeter right in the middle. We enjoy it all year round.

I hope you give this recipe a try. If you do, I know you’ll love it just as much as my family and I do.

Fast. Simple. Delicious.

Pasta And Peas Variations

I like this pasta recipe made just the way it is, but here are some ways to change it up if you’d like to.

  • Pasta- Any kind of tube like pasta would work for this recipe.
  • Meat- Add some cooked pancetta or bacon for a little extra flavor.
  • Vegetables- Add some more vegetables like chopped asparagus or broccoli if you’d like.
  • Protein- Cooked Chicken or canned tuna can also be added for some extra protein.
