Bubble Up Pizza is such a fun spin on an old classic made using canned biscuits, tomato sauce, shredding mozzarella cheese and the toppings of your choice.

Bubble Up Pizza

From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

This bubble up pizza is such a fun and different dinner idea that my family absolutely loved.

My kids really had a great time eating and making this with me, too. They really enjoyed the assembling process and seeing the delicious finished product.

Pizza is always a hit and a family favorite around here. Being from Jersey,I think loving pizza is just in our blood.

I remember first going to college in Rhode Island and calling a pizza place to order take out. I asked for a pizza pie and the person on the other end told me that they were a restaurant not a bakery. And in that moment, I realized not everywhere calls it a pizza pie.

We order from our local pizza places at least once a week at my house. It’s just an easy way to get the kids fed on those busy weeknights.

This recipe was such a fun spin on a food that I already know my family loves. It’s customizable, too.

Add whatever toppings that you’d like. It all works!

It’s definitely great to serve to a crowd, too. The biscuits cook up to make a lot of the dough and we all had plenty to eat and some left over.

This is a a really unique way to have a little fun at dinner and serve something different.

I hope you give this recipe a try. If you do, I know you’ll love it just as much as my family and I did.

Bubble Up Pizza Variations

I like this bubble pizza recipe made just the way it is, but here are some ways to change it up if you’d like to.

  • Toppings- Get creative and use any kind of toppings that you’d like to like peppers, onions and mushrooms.
  • Vegetarian- Completely omit the pepperoni for an easy vegetarian option.
  • Sauce- Use and jarred tomato sauce or your own if you’d like to. I also have a great Simple Tomato Sauce Recipe if you’d like to use that, click HERE.

Other Easy Dinner Ideas

If you like super easy to make dinners like this one, here are some others that I know you’ll love, too.

Bubble Up Pizza Ingredients

  • Canned Biscuits, cut into quarters
  • Tomato/ Pizza Sauce
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Hand Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • Pepperoni (optional)
  • Italian Seasoning

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375

First, spray a 9 x 13” baking dish with cooking spray.

Now, add the cut biscuit dough into the baking dish and spread them out into an even layer.

Then, top them evenly with the tomato sauce.

Next, sprinkle the Parmesan cheese on top.

Now, add the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly on top.

Then, sprinkle the top with pepperoni. I like to chop mine into small pieces but you can leave them whole if you prefer.

Next, sprinkle the Italian seasoning on top.

Now, place the baking dish in the center rack of the oven for about 25-30 minutes or until the biscuits are cooked all the way through.

Finally, let it cool slightly, serve warm and enjoy!
