Hot dog chili is the perfect, easy to make topping that will take your barbecue to the next level this summer.

Hot Dog Chili

From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

Everyone needs a good hot dog chili recipe in their collection and this one is it!

I love BBQing in the spring and summer months. Nothing kicks off the season like some delicious grilled burgers and hot dogs.

We only eat Sabrett hot dogs around here. Not only are they the best but we’re also very good family friends with the Venturini family who own the company. How cool is that?

Those dogs are absolutely wonderful on their own. But, as they say, variety is the spice of life.

So it’s nice to add a little something to jazz they up every now and then. This is my go to.

Chili dogs are our special treat that we enjoy a few times a summer. It’s truly something that my whole family loves to eat.

This chili recipe has just a hint of sweetness to it that really compliments the hot dogs. It’s such a delicious food combination.

The best part is that it’s ready in practically no time. I can have this ready to eat in under 30 minutes.

I hope you give this one a try. If you do, I know you’ll love it just as much as my family and friends do.

Fast. Simple. Delicious.

Hot Dog Chili Variations

I like this chili recipe made just the way it is, but here are some ways to change if up if you’d like to.

  • Beef- lean ground beef is best for this recipe but ground turkey or chicken would work, too.
  • Toppings- Add shredded cheese, diced onions or whatever else you enjoy for even more texture and flavors.
