These Boursin Prosciutto Pinwheels combine puff pastry, Boursin cheese, provolone, prosciutto, and fresh spinach for an easy appetizer that’s always the first thing to disappear at a party.

These Boursin Prosciutto Pinwheels check every box. I love a recipe that looks fancy but couldn’t be easier to make. The creamy garlic and herb cheese melts while the prosciutto adds just the right amount of salt. Every slice comes out looking bakery worthy with almost no effort.
These are one of my favorite appetizers to make when I’m entertaining because they can be assembled ahead of time and baked right before guests arrive. The combination of flaky puff pastry, melty cheese, and savory prosciutto is always a hit, and nobody ever believes how simple they are to make.

Ingredients

- Puff Pastry: Creates those buttery, flaky layers that make these pinwheels irresistible.

- Fresh Spinach: Adds color, freshness, and a little balance to the rich ingredients.
How To Make It
Here is how to make these incredible pinwheels. You can find the full recipe along with instructions on the recipe card below.
- First, unfold the puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface. Spread the Boursin cheese evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges. Layer the provolone cheese over the Boursin.

- Add the prosciutto in an even layer. Scatter the spinach evenly over the top. Starting with the long side, tightly jelly-roll the puff pastry into a log.

- Wrap the log in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Slice into ½-inch thick pinwheels and place them cut side up on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. Leave room in between them to expand. Bake at 400 degrees for 18 to 22 minutes or until puffed and golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving and enjoy!

Pro Tips
- Chill the roll before slicing to help the pinwheels keep their shape.
- Use a sharp serrated knife for cleaner cuts.
- If the puff pastry becomes too soft while assembling, place it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes before rolling.
- Leave a small border around the edges so the filling doesn’t squeeze out when rolled.
- Use fresh spinach. Frozen spinach will create too much moisture.
Variations
- Add Roasted Red Peppers: For a pop of color and sweetness.
- Swap the Cheese: Mozzarella, fontina, or Swiss cheese all work well.
- Try Different Greens: Arugula or baby kale can replace the spinach.
- Finish with a Drizzle: Hot honey or balsamic glaze makes a delicious finishing touch
What to Serve With It
These pinwheels are perfect on an appetizer board alongside olives, marinated vegetables, crackers, and fresh fruit. They also pair wonderfully with a simple salad, soup, or a glass of wine when serving them as part of a casual gathering.
Storage & Reheating
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a 350°F oven for 5 to 8 minutes or in the air fryer for a few minutes until warmed through and crisp again. Avoid microwaving if possible, as the puff pastry can become soft.
They can be frozen, too! Freeze the sliced, unbaked pinwheels on a baking sheet, then transfer them to a freezer-safe bag. Bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cooking time.
Can These Be Made In The Air Fryer?
Yes! Just arrange the pinwheels in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown and flakey.
