- Egg- Creates a golden, glossy finish once brushed onto the dough.

- Pepper- Cuts the richness of the filling.
- Italian Seasoning- Add the perfect blend of Italian herbs. I used Simple Organic.
- Garlic Powder- Brings a warm, savory, garlicy falvor to the stromboli filling. I used the brand McCormick.
Instructions
Heres how to make this delicious stromboli. You can find the full ingredients list along with instructions on the recipe card below.
Preheat the oven to 375°
First, on a lightly flowered surface, roll the pizza dough out into a large rectangle. Add the ranch dressing and smooth it out onto the dough, leaving about an inch clear on the sides. Sprinkle the bacon bits and shredded rotisserie chicken on top. Lightly season it with salt, pepper and garlic powder and sprinkle the cheese on top.
PRO TIP: Lightly flouring the surface will prevent the dough form sticking to the cutting board/ counter.
PRO TIP: Be sure to shred the cheese yourself and avoid the pre shredded stuff that comes in a bag. It will melt much better that way.

Next, starting with the long side of the dough facing you, gently roll it up tightly just like you would a jelly roll. When you reach the end, pinch the seam to seal it and fold the ends under. Place the Stromboli seam-side down on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
PRO TIP: Really be sure to pinch the sides and seal the seam. This way, all the filling will stay inside the stromboli when its being baked.

Then, brush a thin layer of the beaten egg on top and sprinkle it with Italian seasoning. Carefully place 2-3” slits on the top of the dough for ventilation and place it into the center rack of the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the dough is cooked all the way through.
PRO TIP: Placing the stromboli into the center rack of the oven will allow the heat to circulate well and evenly cook the stromboli.
NOTE: Instead of an egg wash, you can brush the top with a tbs of olive oil for a softer, more bread like crust.

Finally, let it rest fo 5-10 minutes before slicing with a serrated knife and serving.
PRO TIP: Let it sit before slicing to let the ingredients settle and firm up inside so everything wont come spilling out.

What Dough Is Best For This Recipe?
Any kind of prepared pizza dough would work perfectly for this recipe. I actually like to pop into my local pizzaria and ask them if I can buy a large dough. Its only $2 and they're usually very happy to sell it to you.
Can I Make This Ahead Of Time?
Yes, you absolutely can make this ahead of time. Just assemble the stromboli, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and place it into the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Let it sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes before placing it in the oven.
Storage
Let the stromboli cool completely and place it into an air tight food storage container. It will last in the refrigerator for up to three days. This freezes well, too. You can freeze it unbaked for best results or after its been cooked. Just place it into a freezer safe air tight container and it will last for up to three months.
