This creamy orzo with chicken was such a big hit at my house.

It’s creamy, cheesy and loaded with delicious pieces of chicken in every bite.
The best part of this meal (besides everything cooking together in just one pot) is that it’s ready to eat in under 30 minutes.

Quick and easy meals that taste great like this one are lifesavers for me on busy weeknights. They take the guess work and hassle out of that to make for dinner.

Creamy Orzo With Chicken Variations
I like this recipe for orzo and chicken made just the way it is, but here are some ways to change it up if you’d like to.

- Pasta- Any kind of small pasta would work in this recipe if you’d prefer to use that. Just be sure to adjust the cooking time and add more broth if needed.
- Protein- Chicken works very well here but you can also use shrimp if you’d like to.
- Spicy- If you’d like to add a little heat, sauté some hot pepper flakes in when you add the chopped garlic.

- Olive Oil
- Onion, chopped
- Garlic, chopped
- Chicken Breast, cubed
- Sun Dried Tomatoes, drained and chopped
- Orzo
- Chicken Broth
- Fresh Baby Spinach
- Heavy Cream
- Parmesan Cheese, grated
- Salt, Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Paprika, Italian Seasoning
- Fresh Parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
First, in a small bowl, add the cubed chicken, drizzle it with olive oil and season it with salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika. Mix to combine.

Now, in a large skillet, sauté the chopped onion in olive oil for 2 minutes stirring frequently.

Next, add the seasoned chicken and allow it to brown on all sides in the pan for about 5-7 minutes or until it’s cooked all the way through.

Then, add the chopped garlic and sun tried tomatoes and sauté them together for 1 minute.

Now, slowly pour in the chicken broth.

Next, add the orzo and stir it in until all the pasta is submerged.

Then, turn the heat to low, lid the skillet and allow the orzo to cook until tender. This should take around 7-10 minutes.

After that, slowly stir in the heavy cream.

Now, add the baby spinach and stir that in until it’s completely wilted.

Next, season the orzo with salt, pepper, garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

Then, add the Parmesan cheese and stir it into the orzo.

Finally, garnish with fresh parsley (optional), serve warm and enjoy!

- 2 Tbs Olive Oil
- 1 Pound Chicken Breast, diced into 1 inch pieces
- 1 Small Onions, diced
- 3 Cloves Garlic, minced
- ¼-1/2 Cup Sun Dried Tomatoes, drained and chopped
- 1 Cup Orzo
- 2 Cups Chicken Broth
- ¾ Cup Heavy Cream
- 2 Cups Baby Spinach
- ½ Cup Parmesan Cheese, grated
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 2 Tbs Garlic Powder
- 1 Tbs Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- 1 Tbs Italian Seasoning
