Crockpot Butterball cranberry turkey breast slowly simmers until tender and juicy, in a sweet and tangy bath of rich cranberry sauce, orange juice, apple cider and seasonings that melts into every bite.

From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

This Crockpot Butterball turkey with cranberry sauce is the kind of comfort food that everyone craves around the holidays. The slow cooker does all the work, transforming simple ingredients into a tender, flavorful turkey that falls apart with a fork. With minimal prep and maximum payoff, it’s a cozy, crowd-pleasing meal perfect for busy weeknights, holidays, or anytime you want something delicious without the fuss.

This recipe is proof that amazing flavor doesn’t have to come from complicated steps or fancy ingredients. This version keeps it simple while delivering mouthwatering tenderness that tastes like it came straight from a holiday table. If you want a no-stress crockpot meal that feels special but fits into real life, this is the one to make.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Effortless- This recipe couldn’t be easier to throw together. The crockpot does all the work for you.
  • Juicy- Slow cooking the turkey breast in all that sauce and juice keeps the meat so juicy.
  • Smaller Portions- This would be the perfect thing to make if you’re hosting a smaller gathering. Sometimes, a whole turkey is just way too much for smaller crowds.

Ingredients

  • Butterball Turkey Breast- Be sure that it’s thawed out and keep the netting on while cooking so it doesn’t fall apart during the process.
  • Whole Cranberry Sauce- I prefer the whole cranberry sauce but jellied would work here, too.
  • Onion Soup And Dip Mix- Just one dry packet will add lots of flavor to the meat.
  • Orange Juice- Gives the cranberry a fresh, citrusy lift.
  • Apple Cidar- Adds a hint of warm spice and fall flavors.
  • Bells Poultry Seasoning- Any brand of poultry seasoning would be ok to use but I highly recommend Bells if you can find it. I have it on my Amazon Shop HERE, too.
  • Chicken Stock- Helps add a richer, more flavorful gravy.
  • Cornstarch Slurry- Cornstarch mixed with a little water will help to thicken the gravy at the end.
  • Butter- Adds a silky finish to the gravy.
  • Salt And Pepper- Add to your liking.
  • Parsley (for garnish)- This is optional but adds a little pop of color to the finished dish.

How To Make It

First, add the turkey breast (with the netting) into the crockpot and season it with the poultry seasoning. In a medium sized bowl, combine the cranberry sauce, onion soup mix, orange juice and apple cider and pour it over the turkey breast.

Then, place the lid on and set the crockpot to low for 6-7 hours. Once the time is up, carefully remove the turkey breast and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Now, strain the liquid from the crockpot into a saucepan. Place the saucepan onto the stove over medium heat and add the chicken stock and butter. Season it with salt and pepper then stir in the cornstarch slurry. Let the gravy simmer for 3-5 minutes.

Finally, remove the netting from the turkey breast, slice it into pieces and pour the gravy on top. Garnish with parsley and enjoy!

What To Serve This With

We usually serve this with all of the traditional holiday sides like Sweet Potato Casserole or Sour Cream Mashed potatoes. So, choose your favorites!

Storage

Let the turkey cool then place it into an air tight container. It can last in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It freezes well, too. Just place the sliced turkey breast into a freezer safe, air tight container for up to 3 months. Thaw it in the refrigerator before reheating.

Way too sweet for my taste and my husband's. I will try using some vinegar or Worcester sauce for the leftovers.
