If you've never had a Doritos Taco Pizza, you're in for a real treat. This is truly a unique pizza experience with so many fun flavors going on. I could eat this every day, its that good. Taco pizza is something that I've seen (and ordered) on restaurant menus here in New Jersey since I was a kid. I always loved the taco and pizza collaboration.
Adding the Doritos gives this pizza such an unexpected crunch and adds so much flavor, too. I've made this pizza so many times for family and friends and everyone just absolutely loves it. This is truly a crowd pleaser and perfect for casual family dinners or get togethers.
Ingredients
Here's everything you'll need to make this delicious pizza. You can find the full ingredients list along with measurements and instructions on the recipe card below.
- Taco Seasoning- Adds lots of taco flavor to the ground beef.
- Ground Beef- Makes this dish hearty and filling
- Pillsbury Prepared Pizza Dough- The perfect choice to make this meal easy and convenient.
- Cheddar Cheese- Compliments the taco seasoned ground beef and adds a creamy texture.
- Sour Cream- Cuts through the richness of the ground beef and binds it to the crust.
- Nacho Cheese Doritos- Adds flavor, texture and crunch.
- Optional Toppings- Shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes are optional toppings that add a real taco feel.
How To Make It
Here's how to make this incredible dinner. You can find the full ingredients list along with instructions on the recipe card below.
First, roll the pizza dough out onto a parchment paper lined baking sheet and make it according to the directions on the package. Then let the crust cool slightly and spread a layer of sour cream on.
PRO TIP: The sour cream is going to act as a binder here to the ground beef doesnt fall off when you're trying to eat it.

Now, make the ground beef according to the directions on the back on the taco seasoning package but use two packets for 1 pound of ground beef. Stir in about a half of a cup of shredded cheese to the beef until it's melted. Add mixture evenly to the top of the sour cream and sprinkle with the remaining cheese.
NOTE: Using two packets of taco seasoning is going to give the beef lots of flavor but feel free to use one if you prefer.
PRO TIP: Be sure to hand shred the cheese yourself and avoid the pre shredded stuff that comes in a bag. It will melt much better that way.

Finally, top with shredded lettuce, diced tomato (optional) and crushed Doritos. Cut the pizza into individual portions and enjoy!
PRO TIP: Add the crushed Doritos last to make sure they stay nice and crispy.

What Can I Serve This With?
I would keep this meal nice and simple and serve this pizza along side a big garden salad.
How Can I Make This Spicy?
Try using a hot and spicy taco seasoning packet. Pepper jack cheese and a can of diced green chilis or sliced jalapanos on top should also do the trick.
Storage
Let the pizza cool completely and place it into a food safe, air tight container. It will last in the refrigerator for up to three days
