I've been making this classic spinach dip for decades, so this version is truly tried and trusted-exactly the way it should taste. My recipe differs from the original Knorr version just a little bit and has that perfect balance of each ingredient. It's the dip everyone asks me to bring to parties and family get togethers. Once you make it my way, it'll become your go-to crowd pleasing favorite, too.
Ingredients
This is everything you'll need to make this delicious Classic Knorr Spinach Dip. You can find the full ingredients along with measurements and instructions in the recipe card below.
- Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix- The backbone of this dip! It adds a savory blend of dried vegetables and spices that gives this spinach dip its signature flavor.
- Mayonnaise- Adds a smooth, velvety texture. I love Dukes or Hellmanns for this.
- Sour Cream- Brings a cool, tangy creaminess and balances the richness of the mayonnaise.
- Frozen Spinach- Adds hearty earthy flavor and the perfect amount of greens to the dip.
- Bread- Any bread like sourdough or pumpernickel makes for a really nice presentation and the perfect thing to eat with the dip.
- Wheat Thins- Its always a good idea to serve this with some extra crackers for dipping, too.

How To Make It
Heres all the steps you'll need to take to make this delicious spinach dip. You can find the full ingredients list along with instructions in the recipe card below.
First, in a medium sized bowl, add the spinach, Knorr Vegetable Recipe Mix, Mayonnaise and Sour Cream. Mix everything together until its very well combined. Cover it tightly and place the dip in the fridge overnight.
PRO TIP: Make sure to strain the frozen and thawed spinach as best as you can so the dip doesn't become watery. Using a Cheese Cloth to do that is a great idea if you have one.
NOTE: The longer you let this dip sit in the fridge, the better. One, or even two days is ideal but if you don't have that kinda time, a few hours will do the trick. The vegetable recipe mix just needs time to soften and bloom with the other ingredients.

Now, cut the top of the bread off and scoop the inside out. Break the scooped out bread into about one inch pieces for dipping. Spoon the spinach dip into the bread bowl and serve. Enjoy!
PRO TIP: Give the dip one big stir before serving to make sure everything is evenly combined.

Can I Use Fresh Spinach Instead Of Frozen?
Yes, fresh spinach works great here for this recipe. You'll just need to cook it down first. Use about 10-12 ounces of cooked, fresh spinach. Make sure to strain out as much liquid as you can and finely chop it. You'll get the same delicious results.
Storage
Place the dip into an air tight container. It will last in the refrigerator for up to three days.

Have loved this dip for years. In fact my niece insists I bring it to our annual Christmas Eve family gathering every year. Now that I am into sourdough baking it is even better. One trick I learned is to use fresh spinach, finely chopped. A lot less messy and there are leftovers for quiche or omelets.

This is an absolute staple at all my family gatherings. I love that you use an oval bread bowl!!
Tip - put an oversized piece of saran wrap over your bread bowl opening. Stuff dip as usual, trimming plastic once fully filled. The plastic cling keeps the bowl dry so that you can eventually tear the bowl into pieces to get the last of the dip. Takes about an hour or so with my big ass family, lol.
