This really is the best doritos taco pizza recipe you’re ever going to find.

And I’m not just saying that either. I can prove it to you.

First of all, it’s super easy because we’re taking a shortcut using pre-made pizza dough like always.

Second, there’s lots sour cream involved.

Everybody knows that when it comes to sour cream the more the better!

The same concept applies for cheese. It just so happens that this taco pizza is loaded with that, too.

Last but definitely not least, crush Doritos are the final topping on this taco pizza.

That’s right, Doritos. They add so much flavor and an incredible crunch factor to this recipe.

I’ve had lots of taco pizzas in my life and this one really is the best.

Don’t just take my word for it. You gotta try it yourself to see. I think once you do, you’ll agree with me completely.

if you do like this one, you’ll for sure love my recipe for easy cheesy garlic bread, too.

Can I swap out the Doritos?

Absolutely you can.

There are so many Dorito varieties out there pick whichever flavor is your favorite.

Here are a few ideas that would all be amazing on taco pizzas.

  • Cool Ranch
  • Spicy Sweet Chili
  • Flaming Hot
  • Salsa Verde
  • Spicy Nacho Cheese

Do I have to use beef?

Nope, not at all. Use whatever makes you happy.

Ground turkey or chicken work very well here if you want to swap the beef out for one of those two.

Shredded chicken would be great too. Just be sure to season it with a little of that taco seasoning.

Things to know:

There are a couple things that make this specific recipe so great that I’d like to you know about.

  • Layer Of Sour Cream

Putting the sour cream down on top of the pizza crust is a strategic move.

Sour cream adds great flavor here but that’s not the only reason we’re using it.

It will help secure the ground beef once it’s added This will stop the beef from completely rolling off the pizza.

  • Add Cheese To The Beef

Adding cheese to the taco seasoned ground beef and mixing it in not only tastes great but there’s a reason for that, too

The cheese will bind the ground beef together, too.

Another great way to keep the beef from rolling off the pizza when you’re trying to eat it.

  • Save The Doritos For Last

After you add all of your toppings, then add the Doritos.

Doing it the other way might make them soggy. We don’t want to lost that crunch!

What toppings go on taco pizza?

I always say that recipes like this are meant to be used as a guide.

That said, add or substitute whatever you want. It’s completely up to you.

Here are some ideas to get the creative juices flowing:

  • Shredded Lettuce
  • Diced Tomatoes
  • Black Olives
  • Red Onion
  • Sliced Avocado
  • Salsa
  • Guacamole
