I hate letting food go to waste. This is the perfect way to turn it into its own delicious meal.

My family loves when I make this recipe.

They all eat it with absolutely zero complaints. If you have kids, you know how rare that can be.

They all eat it with absolutely zero complaints. If you have kids, you know how rare that can be.

What can I add to this easy fried rice?

This fried rice is delicious on its own but if you’d like to add a protein that would make it even better!

Any kind of cooked chicken, pork, beef or seafood would be fantastic choices. I actually really love adding shrimp to this.

Adding a cooked protein is an easy way to turn this side dish into a main dish.

What kind of rice should I use?

I usually only make this recipe when I have leftover white rice in the fridge. I hate letting it go to waste.

So I usually use the complementary white rice that I get from Chinese takeout but any white rice will do.

Just be sure that it’s chilled in the fridge for a bit if you make some just for this recipe.

Brown rice will do, too, but I think white rice tastes the best for this one.

What can I serve with this easy fried rice?

This fried rice is a fantastic side dish to really any meal. I love to serve this with some simply seasoned grilled chicken, steak or shrimp on the side.

Here are some other recipes that would be the perfect complement to this rice, too.

  • The best marinated chicken
  • Chicken teriyaki
  • The best steak marinade
  • Curtis marinated skirt steak
