This is the most delicious easy fried rice recipe that you could ever make. I’ve been doing this since college using leftover white rice that’s given complementary with Chinese food take out. I hate letting food go to waste. This is the perfect way to turn it into its own delicious meal.
I swear sometimes they’re more excited for this the next day than the actually Chinese food order itself. I hope you give this fried rice recipe a try. You’ll absolutely love it if you do.

- Cooked White Rice
- Butter
- Oil
- Carrots
- Onion
- Garlic
- Eggs
- Frozen Peas
- Soy Sauce
- Sesame Oil
- Salt and Pepper
- Garlic Powder
How To Make It
Heres how to make this delicious side dish. You can find the full ingredients list along with measurements and instructions on the recipe card below.
First, in a large skillet, melt the butter and sauté the carrots for 5 minutes. Add the onion and lightly season with salt and pepper. Once the vegetables are soft, add the minced garlic and stir for 1 minute. Add a little oil to the skillet and whisk the beaten eggs into the vegetables just until they’re cooked.
Pro Tip: It's easy to over cook the eggs, so try to keep an eye on them.

Now, add the white rice into the skillet and drizzle it with a little more oil. Add the peas and stir everything together. Cook the rice in the skillet for about 2-4 minutes stirring frequently. Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Finally, stir the sauces into the rice mixture and let that cook for a couple more minutes. Let it cool slightly and enjoy!
NOTE: Keep in mind the soy sauce is salty when seasoning the rice.

Can A Protein Be Added?
Any kind of cooked chicken, pork, beef or seafood would be fantastic choices. I actually really love adding shrimp to this.
What Rice Should I Use?
Any leftover white or brown rice will do. Just be sure that it’s chilled in the fridge for a bit if you make some just for this recipe.
What Can I Serve With This?
This fried rice is a fantastic side dish to really any meal. I love to serve this with some simply seasoned grilled chicken, steak or shrimp on the side.

Easy Fried Rice Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 Cups White Rice, cooked and cooled
- 2 Tbs Butter
- ½ Cup Carrots, chopped
- ½ Cup Onions, chopped
- ½ Cup Frozen Peas
- 2 Tbs Garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 2 Eggs, beaten
- Vegetable Oil (as needed)
- 4 Tbs Soy Sauce
- 1 teaspoon Sesame Oil
Instructions

- Add about 1 tbs of oil to the skillet and whisk the beaten eggs into the vegetables just until they’re cooked. Try your best not to over cook the eggs.
- Add the white rice into the skillet and drizzle it with a little more oil (about 1 tbs). Add the peas and stir everything together. Cook the rice in the skillet for about 2-4 minutes stirring frequently.
- Add the soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder. Please keep in mind that the soy sauce is salty.
- Stir the sauces into the rice mixture and let that cook for a couple more minutes. Then plate the rice, let it cool slightly and enjoy!

Are there additional sauces?? The last step says add the sauces, but the step before that says add the soy sauce n sesame oil. Did u mean to add that last step?
