What kinda of sausage should I use?
I used sweet Italian sausage for this recipe but the choice is yours. Spicy Italian sausage would work if you’d like to spice this up a little bit.

Breakfast sausage would even be a nice option, too. That would make this recipe perfect for brunch.
Can I make this cheesy sausage bread ahead of time?
Yes, you can absolutely make this recipe ahead of time. That’s one of the reasons why I love it so much.

This is great to make for parties because it can be served room temperature. So I can make it before my guests even get there.
What kind of cheese should I use?
I really like shredded cheddar cheese for this recipe but make it your own.
Any cheese would work perfectly here so the choice is yours. You can even use a blend of different ones if you’d like.

Whatever you choose, just be sure to shred the cheese yourself and avoid the preshredded cheese in a bag.
Do I really have to shred the cheese myself?
Yes, absolutely!
This is the one thing that I’d really urge you not to take a shortcut on.
Pre-shredded bagged cheese has chemicals in it like cellulose.

This keeps the cheese from clumping but it also prevents it from melting properly.
Shred the cheese off the block and this cheesy sausage bread will be much creamier.
