These loaded tater tot cups are the perfect, crowd pleasing appetizer.

I’ve made these for game days, holidays and countless parties. Everyone absolutely loves them.
They’re crispy on the outside and filled with melted shredded cheddar cheese, sour cream, bacon bits and chives on the inside. I just can’t get enough of them!

Feel free to get creative with the fillings, though. You can add pretty much whatever you’d like and come up with your own awesome flavor combinations, too.
The best part about this recipe is that it’s super easy to make but looks really impressive.

There’s something about the presentation of a tiny, little appetizer that is just so appealing.
These can be made in either a mini muffin or a regular muffin tin, depending on which size you prefer.

Either way, I’m sure they’re going to be the first appetizer that’s eaten at whatever event you make them for. ?

Loaded Tater Tot Cups Variations
I like this recipe for tater tot cups made as it is, but here are some ways to switch it up if you’d like.

- Size- if you’d like to make these portions just a little bit larger, you can use a regular sized muffin tin pan.
- Cheese- use any kind of cheese that you’d like. Just be sure to shred it yourself and avoid the preshredded stuff that comes in a bag. It will melt way better that way.
- Bacon- Cook and crumble your own bacon or use precooked bacon bits.
- Toppings- Add any kind of additional toppings that you’d like like diced jalapeños, tomatoes or onion.

Loaded Tater Tot Cups Ingredients

- Frozen Tater Tots
- Cheddar Cheese, shredded
- Sour Cream
- Bacon Bits
- Chives, chopped
Ingredients
Preheat the oven to 400°
First, spray the mini muffin tan with cooking spray and place two tater tots into each cup and place them into the oven for 10 minutes.

Then, using your fingers or a shot glass, push the tater tots down into the mini muffin tin cups and up the sides.

Next, as the shredded cheese into each one.

Now, place them back into the oven for 5 minutes.

Then, add sour cream into the center of each cup.

Next, sprinkle them with some bacon bits and chives (optional)

Finally, let them cool slightly and carefully remove them from the mini muffin tin using a butter knife. Serve warm and enjoy!
