The viral boat dip is an appetizer that you’ve just gotta try this summer.

I saw this posted on Tik Tok a few years ago and knew I needed to try it. It looked so good and easy to make, too.

I just knew it was the perfect opportunity to bring it down to my sister and brother in law’s beach house in Lavallette, New Jersey.

They invited us down to share their house for a few days and I really wanted to make something good for us to snack on. This was the perfect thing!

There wasn’t technically a boat involved when making this Boat Dip but I've got good news. This dip is a great snack to enjoy just about anywhere and any time.

The ingredients are simple, its super easy to put togther and everyone scraped the bowl clean. It was such a huge hit.

I will absolutely be making this for every occasion this summer from BBQ’s, to beach days and causal hang outs at home.

Viral Boat Dip Variations

I like this dip made just the way it is but here are some ways to change it up if you’d like to.

• Spicy- If you’d like to add a little spice to this appetizer, add an extra can of diced green chilis, a spicy ranch packet or a spicier cheese like pepper jack.
• Cheese- Swap the cheese out for any other kind you’d like. It all works. Just be sure to shred the cheese yourself.
• Add Ins- Add a drained can of corn, 8 oz of softened cream cheese and chopped scallion for extra texture and flavors.
• Dipping- Potato chips, tortilla chips or bagel chips are all great choices for this.

Viral Boat Dip Ingredients

• Sour Cream
• Rotel Original, drained
• Cheddar Cheese, hand shredded
• Dry Ranch Seasoning Packet
• Ruffles Potato Chips

Instructions

First, in a medium size bowl, add the sour cream, Rotel, shredded cheddar cheese and the dry ranch packet.

Now, stir everything together until it’s evenly combined.

Then, cover it, and place it into the fridge for 2-3 hours.

Finally, give it one big stir before serving with potato chips and enjoy!
