Instructions
Heres how to make this delicious breakfast. You can find the full ingredients list along with instructions on the recipe card below.
First, In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon and salt until fully combined. Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and melt a little butter to coat the surface.
PRO TIP: Whisk the custard thoroughly so no eggs streaks cook onto the bread.

Now, Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture on both sides, letting the excess drip off. Don't over soak the bread. Cook the bread for 2-3 minutes on each side, until golden brown and cooked through.
PRO TIP: Day old or slightly stale bread is best to use here if you can. It will soak up the french toast mixture without falling apart.

Serve immediately with butter, maple syrup, powdered sugar or fresh fruit.

Whats The Best Bread To Use For This?
Any thick cut bread like brioche, challah or Texas toast would work best because they can all absorb the filling without falling apart. Classic white bread would be ok to use, too, if you're in a pinch.
Why Is My French Toast Soggy?
French toast usually gets soggy when the bread is too thin, its was soaked for too long or cooked on heat that was too low.
Storage
Let the french toast cool completely and place it onto an air tight container. It will last in the fridge for up to three days.
