This recipe is such a huge hit that I’ve made it for everything from holiday dinners to casual weeknight dinners on a busy day. I love versatile recipes like this that are so easy to make and also guaranteed crowd pleasers. Not to mention that smashing the potatoes is kind of fun, too. I know if you give this crispy smashed potatoes recipe a try that you’ll love them just as much as my family and I do.

PRO TIP: If you'd like to add even more flavor to these potatoes, boil them in chicken or vegetable broth instead of water.

What Kind Of Potatoes Should I Use?

I used baby yellow potatoes here but fingerling, purple, baby red potatoes or any other smaller sized potato would work.

Can These Be Made In The Air Fryer?

Yes, absolutely. Follow the first part of the recipe up until it comes time to pop them into the oven. Then just load them into the air fryer and cook them at 400 degrees for about 20 minutes.

    Storage

Let the potatoes cool completely and place them into a food safe air tight container. They will last in the fridge for up to three days.

If your in a hurry, you can microwave the potatoes and then spritz them with olive oil and sea salt after smashing. Then put in air fryer to brown them and make them crispy. Freda
