Crockpot beef stroganoff is one of the very first recipes that I’ve ever shared on social media and also happens to be one of my favorites.I have been making this recipe for my family and friends for well over a decade and it has become a staple in my home. Especially during the cooler months here in Jersey when I’m really craving a delicious, stick to your ribs meal. This will keep me warm and full for hours.Crockpots are such a fantastic choice for busy weekday dinners when you just can’t find the time to put a meal on the table. This is literally a dump and go recipe.
It requires very minimal effort and not too many ingredients either. The golden mushroom soup is what really makes this recipe stand out.It gives it so much flavor that goes perfectly with the stew, meat, and egg noodles. It really just is the best recipe that I have tried for crockpot, beef stroganoff ever.I’m very confident that if you try this one, it will become a staple in your home too. It’s one of my personal favorites and I’m super excited to share it.I really hope you give this recipe a try. If you do, I know you’ll love it just as much as my family and I do.
Ingredients
Heres what you'll need to make this delicious dinner. You can find the full ingredients list along with measurements and instructions on the recipe card below.
- Egg Noodles- The perfect carb to soak up all the delicious sauce. I used Light N Fluffy Medium Egg Noodles.
- Stew Meat-The star of the dish! Slow cooking turns tough meat into fork tender beef.
- Campbells Golden Mushroom Soup- Adds lots of rich, earthy flavor and keeps the meat moist while cooking.
- Onion- Adds a bit of natural sweetness and balances the rich sauce.
- Worcestershire Sauce- Elevates and enriches the overall flavor. I use Lea & Perrins
- Water- Thins the canned soup just enough to it can coat the meat and not become too thick.
- Cream Cheese- Makes the sauce silky and creamy.
- Salt- Enhances the other ingredients.
- Pepper- Cuts the richness of the sauce.
- Garlic Powder- Adds garlicy flavor through out the dish. I use Mccormick.
- Fresh parsley- An optional garnish that adds a bright pop of color.
Instructions
Heres everything you'll need to make this delicious dinner. You can find the full ingredients along with instructions in the recipe card below.
First, add the stew meat to the crockpot and season it with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Stir it together until the meat is evenly coated. Add the cans of Golden Mushroom Soup and add the water to the empty cans, give them swirl around to loosen any soup stuck to the sides and add it to the crockpot.

Next, add the chopped onion and Worcestershire sauce and stir it all together. Place the lid on top and set the crockpot to low 8 hours. At the 7.5 hour mark, add the cubed cream cheese and stir it. Let it cook with the meat for the last 30 minutes.

Once the 8 hours is up, stir the meat together one last time breaking any large chunks of stew meat down into smaller pieces and smoothing out any clumps of cream cheese. Stir in the egg noodles and let it sit for 5 minutes. Garnish with fresh parsley (optional), serve warm and enjoy.

Can I Cook This On High Instead Of Low?
Yes, you can cook this on high for about 4-5 hours instead of low. Just be sure the beef is fork tender before adding the cream cheese.
Do I Cook The Egg Noodles First?
Yes, its best to cook the egg noodles separately then add them to the crockpot. You don't want then soaking up too much liquid and turning gummy.
What Cut Of Beef Is Best?
Stew meat or chuck roast cut into chunks is ideal for slow cooking. They become so tender and juicy.
Can I Add Mushrooms?
Yes you can add freshly sliced mushrooms. Place them in with the onions so they can cook and release flavor.
Storage
Let the beef stroganoff cool completely and place it into an air tight container. It will last in the fridge for up to three days.

Well, you’re not supposed to add any cream so that’s your first mistake. I’ve been sharing this recipe since 2012 and never had a bad review. I think it’s best for the both of us if you never try these recipes again. If you screwed this simple one up- it only gets harder from here. Good luck our there
