Italian summer sammies are made with thinly sliced deli meat and a zesty Italian cream cheese spread that’s rolled up into a tortilla and cut into pinwheels for the perfect lunch at the beach or pool.
Italian Summer Sammies
From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito
These Italian summer sammies are the perfect thing to snack on by the pool or beach this summer.

My sister and brother in law invited us down the shore to share their house again this summer. We spend a lot of time at the beach when we’re there.
It’s so nice to bring a little something to munch on. I don’t know about you but once I’m there with my feet in the sand I never want to leave.

These pinwheels are just the thing to hit the spot. Not to mention they’re super easy to make and absolutely delicious, too.
Feel free to add some extras or take some things away. This recipe is super customizable and can be adjusted to suit anyone’s preferences.

They are always a huge hit whenever I pull these out of my beach cooler to share with friends and family. We usually take a little Hawaiian Macaroni Salad or Mom's Famous Tortellini Salad with us, too.
Spending all day in the sun sure does build up an appetite. You’ll be so happy you have these to satisfy that hunger and spend as much time enjoying the day as possible.

I hope you give these sandwiches a try on your next beach or pool day. If you do I know you’ll love them just as much as my family and I do.

Italian Summer Sammies Variations
I like these summer sandwiches made just the way they are, but here are some ways to change it up id you’d like to.

- Bread- Use regular bread instead of the tortillas for a for filling version.
- Cheese- Feel free to add some thinly sliced cheese to these sandwiches.
- Deli Meat- Experiment with different deli meat but make sure you ask them to slice it thin for you. That will make this pinwheels much easier to roll up.

I am planning to make this for our upcoming trip to the lake. We normally buy the pinwheels from Costco but these look so much more tastier and cheaper to make! I'm also going to use lavash Flatbread instead of tortillas. Thank you for sharing this recipe!
