These sweet and smoky Beans And Wiens are loaded with crispy bacon, Sabrett hot dogs, tangy BBQ sauce, honey, and brown sugar for the ultimate backyard barbecue side dish.
From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

Growing up in Bergen County New Jersey there was only one kind of hot dog allowed in our house- Sabrett! Not only are Sabrett hot dogs a true New York and New Jersey staple but the family behind the company has been friends of ours for years. Because of that, they're the only hot dogs I will ever use. Their signature snap and flavor just can't be beat, especially in recipes like this one.
This recipe is one of those classic cookout sides that disappears every single time it's served. Smoky bacon, sweet baked beans, browned hot dogs, and a sticky mixture of BBQ sauce, honey, mustard, and brown sugar come together for a dish that's comforting, nostalgic, and ridiculously easy to make. Whether you're grilling burgers, hosting a summer party, or watching football, these baked beans belong on the table.

How To Make It
Heres how to make this amazing meal. You can find the full ingredients list along with instructions on the recipe card below.
- Preheat the oven to 350° Fry the bacon over medium high heat in a large cast-iron skillet until it is crispy. Remove the bacon and place it on paper towels to drain leaving the remaining grease in the skillet. Add the sliced hotdogs and cook them in the bacon grease for about 2 to 3 minutes or until they start browning on the sides.

- Drain about a tablespoon of the liquid from the beans and add them to the skillet. Add the brown sugar, barbecue sauce, yellow mustard, honey and bacon bits. Mix everything together until it’s nice and evenly combined. Place it in the oven for about 15 to 20 minutes or until the sides are hot and bubbly. Let it cool slightly and garnish with parsley (if desired). Serve warm and enjoy.

Pro Tips
- Browning the hot dogs first gives them the best flavor.
- Don't drain all of the liquid from the beans-you want them creamy.
- A cast iron skillet goes from stovetop to oven with no extra dishes.
- Make this a day ahead. The flavors are even better the next day.
- Double the recipe for parties because it disappears fast.
Variations
- Stir in diced onions with the bacon.
- Add diced jalapeños for a little heat.
- Use hickory or honey BBQ sauce for different flavor profiles.
- Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top before baking.
- Add a splash of Worcestershire sauce for extra depth.
