Ingredients

- Idaho Potatoes- Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
- Vegetable Oil- Crisps the potatoes up perfectly.
- Lipton Onion Recipe Secrets Packet- Adds all the flavor and seasoning you'll need right in one convenient packet.
How To Make It
Heres how to make these flavorful potatoes. You can find the full ingredients list along with instructions on the recipe card below.
Preheat the oven to 425° and pop the baking sheet in to preheat, too.
First, dice your potatoes into equal size pieces and add them to a medium sized bowl. Drizzle them with oil, add the onion soup packet and toss to combine.
PRO TIP: Cut all the potato pieces into equal sided pieces so they cook evenly and are ready at the same time.

Then, add them to the preheated baking sheet in a single layer. Place them into the center rack of the oven for about 15 minutes. Carefully toss them on the baking sheet and place it back into the oven for another 15 minutes or until the potatoes are golden brown and crispy. Serve warm and enjoy!
PRO TIP: Don't skip the step of tossing the potatoes on the baking sheet half way through. This will help get them crispy on all sides.

Can These Be Made In The Air Fryer
Yes, instead of roasting the potatoes, they can absolutely be done in the air fryer. Set the air fryer to 400° for about 15-20 minutes. Give the basket a shake about every 5-7 minutes and you'll be good to go.
What Potatoes Should I Use?
Yukon Gold are the best choice because they hold up beautifully with the onion soup mix. Russet, Red and baby potatoes would all be great to use also.
Storage
Let the potatoes cool completely and place them into a food safe air tight container. They will last in the refrigerator for up to three days.

Hi Mary. I’m so sorry you didn’t like the potatoes. This recipe is right off the Lipton Soup Packet and has been made my many. I wonder if maybe the potatoes were cut too small or put on the wrong rack?
Mary says
After the first 15 minutes the potatoes were too brown and the onion bits from the soup mix were burnt!
Mary says
I followed the recipe exactly at the beginning. After the first 15 minutes I flipped the potatoes. The side on the cookie sheet was already too brown and the onion bits from the soup mix were burnt. I flipped the potatoes and reduced the time. Even so, the onion bits were burnt and stuck to the potatoes. Would never make this recipe again.
