This Marry Me pasta is loaded with delicious Italian flavors that blend perfectly with a creamy pasta sauce.

Marry Me Pasta

From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

Marry Me pasta is such an incredibly delicious comfort food recipe.

This is a little spin on Marry Me Chicken. That was a recipe you may have seen that was trending about a year ago.

If you haven’t tried that, I absolutely recommend you do. It’s very good!

The sauce on the chicken is just incredible. There are so many delicious flavors in it.

As much as I love a good chicken dish, the sauce was the best part.

So, I decided to make a version where it was the star of the show. This pasta was the perfect choice.

Every time I make it, my family eats the whole thing, and I never have any leftovers.

In my house, that's a sign of a really good meal.

I hope you give this recipe a try, I know you’ll love it as much as my family and I do.

Fast. Simple. Delicious.

Did you know that I have a cookbook called Fast Simple Delicious?

What should I serve with this marry me pasta?

The great thing about most pasta recipes is that they can be served with just about anything.

So feel free to serve this with that ever you’d like.

I personally would love this with some thinly sliced chicken cutlets or classic Italian meatballs.

A grilled skirt steak or marinated chicken would be delicious, too.

Marry me pasta ingredients

  • Spaghetti/ pasta of your choice (save a ladle of pasta water)
  • Olive oil
  • Butter
  • Chopped onion
  • Chopped garlic
  • Tomato paste
  • Flour
  • Chicken broth
  • Heavy cream
  • Shredded basil
  • Chopped sun dried tomatoes (plus some oil from the jar)

First, heat the oil in a large pan and sauté the onion until it’s soft. Add the garlic and cook it for one more minute.

Now add the butter, tomato paste, flour, Italian seasoning and lightly season with salt and pepper.

Then stir it all together and let it cook over medium high heat for about 2 minutes.

Next, stir in the chicken stock and cream.

After that, add the sun-dried tomatoes and a little bit of the oil from their jar.

Now stir in some shredded basil and Parmesan cheese.

Finally, add the pasta and toss it into the sauce until it’s evenly coated.

Steve warm and enjoy.

This looks delicious, but I’m not crazy about sun dried tomatoes. Can I leave them out? Should I add more paste?

Way too much Italian seasoning. That one spice completely overwhelmed the dish. Not sure if I’ll make again but if I do, I’ll start with 2 teaspoons then taste and add to my liking.
