What sausage should I use?
I like pork breakfast sausage for this. I used Jimmy Dean.

You can use whatever kind of sausage you’d like but I’d highly recommend any brand of pork breakfast sausage.
How do I serve this sausage gravy and biscuits?
Serving this breakfast is so easy!
Just split the biscuits open and spoon the sausage gravy on top of it.

These can be served alone or with some fruit, eggs or crispy bacon on the side.
How can I add more flavor to this sausage gravy and biscuits recipe?
A common complaint with making this dish is that it lacks flavor. And that can absolutely be true.
This recipe has to be generously seasoned with at least salt and pepper.

I like to keep it to that but feel free to add additional seasonings if you’d like to.
Garlic powder, rosemary or thyme would all be great additions.

You can also swap out the butter for bacon grease in this recipe to add a bunch of great flavor.
However you decide to add to this dish, just be sure to taste the gravy before serving and reseason if you think it needs it.
Sausage gravy and biscuits ingredients

- Can of premade biscuits
- Pork breakfast sausage
- Butter
- Flour
- Milk
- Salt & pepper
- Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
First, make the biscuits according to the directions on the back of the premade biscuit can. I used my air fryer to make them.

Now, in a large skillet brown the sausage over medium high heat.

Then add the butter and stir it into the sausage until it melts.

Next, start to slowly sprinkle in the flour while stirring it into the sausage.

Once the flour is all in, let it cook over medium heat for a few minutes while continuously stirring.

Now start to slowly add in all of the milk and turn the heat to low. If it’s too thick, you can add a little more milk.

Then add the Worcestershire sauce and season it with salt and pepper to taste.

Finally, split open the biscuits and spoon the sausage gravy over it.

Serve warm and enjoy!
