How to soften cream cheese
Lots of recipes call for softened cream cheese and there are a few ways that you can do it.
First, just take it out of the fridge and toss it onto the counter for about 30 minutes. That’s all there is to it! The cream cheese will be perfect after that time.
Second, you can add it (still sealed) to a bowl of warm water. This method will take even faster. About 10-15 minutes.
And last but not least, you can always use the trusty microwave. Take the cream cheese out of the package and place it onto a plate. Microwave it for 30 seconds – 1 minute and you’re done!
4 ingredient blueberry danish variations
This recipe is so great because it can be made with lots of different pie fillings. Cherry pie filling works especially well here.
You can also omit the pie filling completely if you’d like and make it a cheese danish.
Feel free to choose whatever pie filling you’d like or omit it completely. They will still come out great.

4 ingredient blueberry danish ingredients
- Pillsbury crescent rolls
- Blueberry pie filling
- Powdered sugar
- Softened cream cheese
Instructions
First take the Pillsbury crescent rolls out of the container. DO NOT unroll them. Keep in in one big log.
Now slice them into about 1/2 inch rounds. This should make about 7-8 portions.
Then lay them down on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. (I ran out of parchment paper so it’s not in these photos but I’d recommend using it)
Using your fingers, make a dip in the center. Keep the edges tall so the fillings will stay inside.
Now mix the cream cheese and powdered sugar together.
Take about a tablespoon and a half and place it in the center of the crescent roll round.
Then take about a tablespoon of the blueberry pie filling and place it on top of the cream cheese.
Bake them in the oven at 375° for 12-15 minutes or until the dough is lightly golden brown.
Let them cool slightly and serve warm.
