Lazy Lasagna With Ravioli

From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

I love this lazy lasagna with ravioli recipe for busy weekday dinners.

It’s so simple to put together and tastes so much like lasagna with much less of a hassle.

Using cheese stuffed ravioli instead of traditional lasagna sheets and ricotta cheese is brilliant if you ask me.

What a serious time saver! This is the “lazy” version after all. It should be nice and simple.

My family always loves when I make this recipe for them. They’re are rarely and leftovers when I do.

That to me is a sign that this recipe is a keeper.

I hope you give this one a try. I know that if you do, you’ll love it just as much as my family and I do.

Fast. Simple. Delicious.

Did you know that I have a cookbook called Fast Simple Delicious?

Lazy lasagna with ravioli variations

This recipe is delicious as it is, but here are some ways to change it up a little if you’d like to.

  • Ravioli- instead of ricotta cheese, use another kind of filling for some variety.
  • Sauce- you can omit the beef completely or use another kind of sauce like Alfredo.
  • Meet- I’d you’d rather not use beef for this recipe, ground chicken or turkey would work very well, too.

What side dishes go with this lazy lasagna with ravioli?

This dish would go perfectly with a nice big salad and some homemade garlic bread.

I’d also suggest adding a vegetable side like some of these for example:

  • Frozen Roasted Green Beans
  • Roasted Garlic Parmesan Broccoli
  • Easy Creamed Spinach

Lazy lasagna with ravioli ingredients

  • Onion, chopped
  • Olive oil
  • Ground beef
  • Garlic, minced
  • Tomato sauce
  • Cheese ravioli (if using frozen ravioli, make sure that it’s thawed)
  • Mozzarella cheese, hand shredded
  • Parmesan cheese
  • Salt, pepper, Italian seasoning & garlic powder

Instructions

First, in a large skillet, sauté the onion and garlic in the oil for two minutes over medium high heat.

Now, add the ground beef and brown it while breaking the meat into small pieces.

Then, drain and access fat (if needed) and season the meat mixture with salt, pepper, garlic powder and Italian seasoning.

Next, stir in the tomato sauce and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

Now, line a baking dish with an about ¼ c of the sauce.

Then, place the ravioli down side by side over the sauce until it covers it all.

Next, sprinkle the top with shredded mozzarella cheese and a little grated parmesan cheese.

Then add another layer of sauce and ravioli.

For the final layer, add a little more sauce and the rest of the shredded mozzarella cheese.

Finally, bake at 350° for about 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the sides are hot and bubbly.

Garnish with parsley (optional), serve warm and enjoy.

This look wonderful!! Question: Is the 24oz jar of tomato sauce, indeed tomato sauce or is it marinara or spaghetti sauce? Thx for clearing this up! I look forward to making this.

Can you use round raviolis for this or do they need to be square?

For both the easy green beans & Easy lasagna you say to add 1 tablespoons of garlic powder, is it to Garlicky. I love garlic, but a tablespoon seemed like a lot too me.
