Crockpot French onion meatloaf is an absolutely delicious, hassle free dinner that the whole family is sure to love.

I’m always looking for recipes that are good for busy week nights and this one is perfect.
My family loves meatloaf but sometimes I just don’t have the time babysit the oven when I’m rushing the kinds from one after school activity to the next.

This recipe lets the crockpot do most of the work for me. I can do the prep in the morning then come home later that day to dinner being ready.
It doesn’t get more convenient than that. Crockpots are the biggest time savers ever.

It’s always so moist and flavorful with the most delicious glaze on top. I love what the dry Lipton soup packets bring to it.
This meatloaf goes great with whatever sides you’d like to choose but we love to eat this with a nice big side of Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes and Roasted Green Beans.

My family loves when I make this this for them and it’s a personal favorite of mine, too.
I hope you give this recipe a try. If you do, I know you’ll love it just as much as my family and I do.

Crockpot French Onion Meatloaf Variations
I like this crockpot recipe made just the way it is but here are some ways to change it up if you’d like.

- Meat- Ground Turkey can be substituted for the ground beef.
- Vegetables- Feel free to add vegetables to the bottom of the crockpot like chopped carrots, onions and potatoes. Omit the tin foil if you’re going to add them so the juice from the meatloaf can help to cook the veggies.
- Ritz Crackers- Breadcrumbs can me used instead of the crushed crackers if you prefer.
- Crockpot- Although this is a crockpot recipe, it can definitely also be made in the oven. Just place the meatloaf into a baking pan and pop it into a 375° oven for about 45 minutes.

Crockpot French Onion Meatloaf Ingredients

- Ground Beef
- Lipton Onion Soup Packets
- Eggs
- Onion, chopped
- Milk
- Ritz Crackers, crushed
- Ketchup
- Brown Sugar
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Salt, Pepper and Garlic Powder
- Fresh Parsley, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
First, in a large bowl, add the ground beef, eggs, Lipton onion soup packets, diced onion, milk, ketchup and crushed Ritz crackers.

Now, season it and mix everything together just until it’s evenly combined. Be careful not to over work the meat or the meatloaf will become too dense.

Then, line a crockpot with two layers of aluminum foil so that the meatloaf can be easily removed from the crockpot later and gently place the meatloaf on top of the foil.

Now, in a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce.

Then, evenly spread the sauce over the top of the meatloaf.

Next, close the crockpot lid and place it on the low setting for 6 hours.

Now, carefully lift the aluminum foil, leaving the liquid that has accumulated at the bottom, and place it onto a cutting board.

Finally, slide the meatloaf off of the aluminum foil, garnish with freshly chopped parsley (optional), slice and enjoy!

Al Dente Diva says
So sorry. It meant to say over work the meat

I have never made a meatloaf before..I think I may have overworked the meat a little... will I have to cook it longer or will it ruin the taste??
Al Dente Diva says
No it’s ok! Just don’t over mix for next time

Seems like an awful lot of onion soup mix, 2 pks, plus extra onión. Plus, all the sodium?
I make by meatloaf with 1 pk and it's plenty of flavor.
Was this an error in recipie?
Al Dente Diva says
Nope no error on my party. If you’re sensitive to salt just use one packet
