This caramel apple dump cake really is the perfect fall dessert. Its just the right combination of flavors to hit the spot once the cool weather starts to roll in. Anything with pumpkin or apples are right up my alley. As much as I love apple desserts, they can be a pain in the butt to make. At least, thats how I look at them. Any dessert recipe that I make needs to be super easy and low effort, too.

Thats why I just love this dump cake recipe so much. The name says it all! All thats required on my part is to literally dump everything into the baking dish and the work on my part is done. Using premade ingredients like boxed cake mix and canned apple pie filling are huge shortcuts here. Its almost hard to believe how great this cake comes out compared to how little needs to be done to put it together.

Ingredients

Here is everything you'll need to make this amazing dump cake. You can find the full ingredients list along with instructions and measurements on the recipe card below.

  • Apple Pie Filling
  • Caramel Sauce
  • Spice Cake Mix
  • Butter
  • Chopped Pecans

How To Make It

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees

1. First, spray a 9 x 13” baking dish with cooking spray and add in the apple pie filing. Spread it out evenly. Then, evenly pour the caramel sauce over the apples. Add the boxed cake mix on top. Spread it over the top of the apples and caramel being careful not to disturb the apples and caramel on the bottom.

PRO TIP: Warm the caramel sauce in the microwave for a few seconds to make it easier to pour.

2. Evenly distribute the slices of butter on top of the cake mix. Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly on top.

PRO TIP: Instead of slicing the butter, freeze it and grate it into small pieces then distribute it on top.

3. Then, place it into the center rack of the oven for about 50 minutes. Let it cool for 10 minutes, serve and eenjoy.

PRO TIP: Let the cake cool to allow it to settle and firm up to make serving easier.
