Crockpot beef and noodles is a cozy, comforting meal made with tender beef slow-cooked in a rich, flavorful broth and tossed with hearty noodles for a meal the whole family will love.

Crockpot Beef And Noodles

From the recipe collection of Tara Ippolito

Crockpot beef and noodles is the ultimate comfort food. Its got tender chunks of slow-cooked beef simmered in a rich, savory broth until melt-in-your-mouth soft, then tossed with hearty egg noodles that soak up all that delicious flavor. It's a cozy, stick-to-your-ribs meal that fills the house with a mouthwatering aroma as it cooks low and slow all day. Perfect for chilly nights or when you need something warm, hearty, and filling.

Trust me, this is the recipe you want because l've perfected every step to make it foolproof, flavorful, and unbelievably comforting. My version takes the classic to the next level with a rich, savory depth and tender beef that practically melts into the noodles. Once you try it my way, you'll never go back.

Ingredients

  • Meat- Stew Meat is but try to get a chuck roast and cut up on your own if possible. Stew meat doesn't always use the best cuts of beef. Also, you can trim and control the amount of fat on each piece to your liking.
  • Lipton Onion Soup Packet- Brings a rich, onion flavor with a hint of saltiness to the meal.
  • Au Jus Packet- This wil really help intensify the meaty flavor of the sauce.
  • Brown Gravy Packet- It will create a rich, savory thickness to the broth and a ton of beefy flavor.
  • Onion- White or yellow onion would both be ok to use here.
  • Water
  • Beef Broth- Use low sodium if you're watching your salt intake. This flavorful broth will keep the beef moist while cooking and also make a delicious broth for the egg noodles.
  • Egg Noodles- Any size and shape of egg noodles would be ok to use here. I been able to find Reames Egg Noodles but I think they would be great to use here, too.

How To Make It

First, add the stew meat to the crockpot. Sprinkle the onion soup, au jus and brown gravy packets on top. Add in the diced onion, too.

Next, pour in the water and beef broth and give everything a nice big stir. Put the top onto the crockpot set it on low 6 hours.

Once the time is up, stir everything together and try to break up the chunks of beef a bit while you’re stirring. Then, stir in the cooked egg noodles.

Finally, serve warm and enjoy!

Recipe Tips And Variations

  • Cook Time- This can be cooked on low for 6 hours or on high for 3. I highly recommend that you take the time and let the crockpot run on low for the whole 6 hours. The beef will turn out much more tender that way.
  • Sour Cream- Add in about ¼-1/2 cup of sour cream with the egg noodles to add some creaminess.
  • Veggies- Add some frozen peas the last half hour of cooking for a pop of color and texture.

What To Serve This With

All you need to serve this with to make it a complete meal is a simple side salad or vegetable like Garlic Parmesan Roasted Broccoli or Frozen Roasted Green Beans.

Storage

Let the beef and noodles cool then place them into an air tight storage container and into the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.

The noodles need to be boiled first? Or just put them directly?

I have celiac so need to be gluten free. Would gluten free noodles of some kind work to substitute? Or potatoes?

You know what to be honest with you I don’t really have that much experience with an Insta pot so I wouldn’t be the one to ask. I’m sorry.

Hi! I’m note sure- could just need some more time to cook. Re read the ingredients make sure you didn’t use something different on accident like chicken gravy . Let me know how it turned out.
