This is a new recipe for me that I kept seeing online, and I finally had to try it. Swamp potatoes are one of those simple, old school crockpot dishes that I wish I had tried sooner. Even if you’ve never made them before, like me, you can’t mess these up. Everything cooks together low and slow until it turns buttery, savory, and completely delicious.
I loved this recipe because it’s incredibly easy and delivers big comfort food flavor with very little effort. The smoky sausage, tender potatoes, and green beans soak up all that buttery onion seasoning, making it perfect for busy days, family dinners, or potlucks. It’s the kind of dish that disappears fast and has everyone asking for the recipe.

Potatoes, green beans, sausage, butter, and seasoning all cook down into a soft, saucy mixture that looks like everything is “swimming” together in a savory swamp. It’s a playful Southern nickname for a rustic, comfort food side dish.
