the best steak tips cover

These steak tips feel like a restaurant dinner at home without a ton of effort. I make these when I want something that delicious and satisfying and still comes together fast. The marinade does all the heavy lifting here. It gives the steak that deep savory flavor with just enough sweetness to make every single bite ridiculously good.

What I love most about this recipe is how simple it really is. You toss everything together, let the steak sit for a couple of hours and then throw it into a screaming hot skillet for just a few minutes. That’s all there is to it! The edges get caramelized, the inside stays juicy and the whole kitchen smells absolutely incredible!

What The Best Cut Of Steak For Steak Tips?

Sirloin is one of the best options because it’s flavorful, affordable, and stays tender when cooked quickly. Ribeye, strip steak, tenderloin, flap meat, or even tri-tip all work great, too.

Ingredients

Here is everything you’ll need to make this delicious dinner. You can find the full ingredients list along with measurements and instructions on the recipe card below.

  • Sirloin Steak: Tender, flavorful, and perfect for quick high-heat cooking.
  • Soy Sauce: Adds salty, rich umami flavor and helps tenderize the meat.
  • Worcestershire Sauce: Gives the marinade depth and a savory steakhouse flavor.
  • Brown Sugar: Balances the saltiness and helps create caramelization.
  • Lemon Juice: Brightens the marinade and lightly tenderizes the steak.
  • Crushed Garlic: Adds bold savory flavor throughout the meat.
  • Fresh Ginger: Gives the marinade warmth and a subtle fresh bite.
  • Garlic Powder: Boosts the overall savory flavor.
  • Black Pepper: Adds a little sharpness and balances the sweetness.
  • Neutral Oil: Helps the steak sear properly without overpowering the flavor.

How To Make Them

Here’s how to make this incredible steak. You can find the full ingredients list along with instructions on the recipe card below.

1. First, add the cubed sirloin steak to a large zip-top bag or container. Pour in the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, crushed garlic, ginger, garlic powder, and black pepper. Mix until the steak is evenly coated. Cover or seal and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or up to 24 hours.

2. Then, heat a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat and add a little neutral oil. Drain the marinade from the steak before cooking and add it to the hot skillet in a single layer.

PRO TIP: Let the steak sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes before cooking so it cooks more evenly.

PRO TIP: Pat the steak lightly dry after draining the marinade for the best sear.

3. Now, Cook for about 2 to 3 minutes per side, depending on the size of the cubes and your preferred doneness. Remove from the skillet and let the steak rest for a few minutes, garnish with parsley (optional) and enjoy!

PRO TIP: Even just letting the steak rest for 5 minutes helps the juices settle back into the steak instead of running all over the plate when you cut into them.

How Long Should I Marinate Them For?

At least 2 hours is ideal, but overnight gives the best flavor. Just don’t go much past 24 hours because the texture can start to change from the acid in the marinade.

What Should I Serve Them With?

These go great with Sour Cream Mashed Potatoes, rice, salad, or even roasted vegetables and dinner is done!

Storage

Let the steak cool completely and place it into a food safe, air tight container. It will last in the refrigerator for up to three days.
