These wasabi mashed potatoes are the perfect side dish to add a little kick to your dinner plate.

This is a recipe that I have been making for many years for my friends and family.
I actually can’t believe it’s taking me so long to post it because it’s so simple, easy to make and always such a huge hit.
I first served this for some college girlfriends with my marinated skirt steak almost a decade ago.

They loved it so much that now it’s become a tradition to make these every time we spend time with each other.
This is a great recipe because it can be as spicy or as mild as you’d like it to be. just add more or less wasabi sauce, depending on your taste.

They can also be as easy as you’d like them to be, too. Just skip making the mashed potatoes from scratch and use premade or instant mashed potatoes.
These are a fantastic way to serve a little something different and exciting. Traditional mashed potatoes and delicious but can get a little boring and predictable.

This is a great chance to try something new that’s sure to be a crowd pleaser.
I hope you give this recipe a try. If you do, I know you’ll love it just as much as my family and friends do.

Wasabi Mashed Potatoes Variations
This recipe is fantastic made just the way it is but here are some ways to change it up if you’d like to.

- Potatoes- Russet or Yukon gold are the best for this recipe. If even taken a major short cut and just used instant or store prepared mashed potatoes and added the wasabi sauce to it in pinch.
- Seasoning- feel free to add additional seasoning to the potatoes if you’d like to. I kept it pretty minimal to keep the wasabi flavor as dominant as possible but add more if you’d like to.
- Consistency- Use a traditional potato masher for a more rustic and chunky consistency or blend them together with a hand mixer to make them more smooth. It’s completely up to you.
