cast iron chocolate chip cookie skillet

Have you tried one of these chocolate chip cookie cast iron skillets before? They’re life changing! It’s a big, warm, perfectly cooked chocolate chip cookie. Ooey gooey in the center with a slightly crispy crust from the cast iron skillet.

Now imagine that drizzled in chocolate syrup with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. I’ve gotten this dessert out to eat so many times. Sometimes it’s referred to as a Pizookie. Different names for the same thing.- cookie dough baked inside of a cast iron skillet. But as straight forward as it seemed, I still thought I could make it even easier. That admittedly lazy idea turned out to be the best shortcut ever!

Ingredients

Heres everything you'll need to make this delicious dessert. You can find the full ingredients list along with measurements and instructions on the recipe card below.

  • Butter- To grease the skillet
  • Prepared Refrigerated Cookie Dough- The star of the show! A super convenient way to get the ooey gooey result of this dessert.

How To Make It

Here is how to make this incredibly delicious cookie skillet. You can find the full ingredient list along with measurements on the recipe card below.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Lightly grease the cast iron skillet with butter and press the cookie dough down into the skillet. Place the skillet into the center rack of the oven for about 15-20 minutes. The sides should be browned and the center will be a little raw and jiggly still. That's ok!!! DO NOT OVER COOK IT.

Carefully remove the hot cast iron skillet from the oven and let it sit for 10 more minutes. The heat from the skillet will continue to cook the cookie. Serve with the toppings of your choice and enjoy!!

What Should I Serve This With?

Toppings on this are the best part so choose your favorite! Hot sauce, peanut butter sauce, caramel, whipped cream and sprinkles are all great choices.

Storage

Let the cookie cool completely and place it into a food safe, air tight container. It will last in the fridge for up to three days.
