This Crispy Baked Boursin Chicken is such an easy way to turn basic chicken breasts into something that feels a little more special. The creamy Boursin keeps the chicken flavorful and juicy while the Panko topping gets perfectly golden and crispy.
I also love that everything comes together right on a sheet pan, so cleanup is super easy. Add broccoli or another vegetable to the other side and you can make the whole dinner at once.

Ingredients
Here is everything you’ll need to make this delicious recipe. You can find the full ingredients list along with measurements and instructions on the recipe card below.
- Chicken Breasts – Butterfly the chicken so it cooks quickly and evenly.
- Salt & Pepper – To season the chicken and bring out all the other flavors.
- Garlic Powder – Adds an easy savory garlic flavor.
- Onion Powder – Gives the chicken another layer of seasoning.
- Boursin Cheese – Creates the rich, creamy layer underneath the breadcrumbs. Garlic & Fine Herbs is a great choice.
- Milk – Loosens the Boursin just enough to make it easy to spread over the chicken.
- Panko Breadcrumbs – Gives the chicken that light, crispy topping.
- Olive Oil – Helps the breadcrumbs toast and turn golden brown. Melted butter can be used instead.
How To Make It
Heres how to make this delicious chicken dinner. You can find the full ingredients list along with instructions on the recipe card below.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F and lightly grease a foil lined baking sheet. Butterfly the chicken breasts and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder and onion powder. In a small bowl, stir the Boursin Cheese with the milk until smooth, creamy and easily spreadable. Spread the Boursin mixture evenly over the top of each piece of chicken. In another bowl, toss the Panko breadcrumbs with olive oil and a little additional salt and pepper. Sprinkle the Panko mixture generously over the Boursin layer, gently pressing it down so it sticks.

- Bake for about 12–15 minutes, or until the chicken is nearly cooked through and has reached a safe internal temperature. Move the baking sheet to the upper rack and broil for 1–2 minutes, watching it very closely, until the breadcrumb topping is crispy and golden brown. Remove the chicken from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes and serve warm.

Pro Tips
- Butterfly The Chicken Evenly – Keeping the pieces relatively uniform in thickness helps them cook at the same rate.
- Don’t Make The Boursin Too Thin – Add the milk a little at a time. You want the cheese creamy and spreadable, not runny.
- Oil The Panko First – Tossing the breadcrumbs with olive oil before adding them to the chicken helps create that beautiful golden crust.
- Watch It Under The Broiler – Panko can go from perfectly golden to burned very quickly, so don’t walk away.
- Use A Meat Thermometer – Chicken is safely cooked when the thickest part reaches 165°F.
Variations
- Use Melted Butter – Swap the olive oil for melted butter when coating the Panko for an even richer flavor.
- Change The Boursin – Try another Boursin variety to easily change the flavor of the chicken.
- Add Parmesan – Mix some freshly grated Parmesan into the Panko for an extra cheesy crust.
- Change The Seasonings – Italian seasoning, paprika or your favorite chicken seasoning blend would all work well.
- Make It A Sheet Pan Meal – Add broccoli, asparagus or another quick-cooking vegetable alongside the chicken. Toss the vegetables with a little olive oil and seasoning first.
What To Serve With This?
This chicken goes great with roasted baby potatoes, mashed potatoes, rice or buttered noodles. For something lighter, serve it with roasted broccoli, asparagus, green beans or a simple side salad.
Can I Make This Ahead Of Time?
You can season the chicken and prepare the Boursin mixture ahead of time, but I recommend adding the Panko shortly before baking so it stays as crisp as possible.
Storage & Reheating
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To keep the Panko topping crispy, reheat the chicken in a 375°F oven or air fryer until warmed through. The microwave will work in a pinch, but the breadcrumb topping will soften.
