Everyone deserves to have a great recipe for it in their collection. This one is my go to for sure.

Garlic bread is one of those things that everybody loves and I totally get why.
Slathering bread in garlic butter and baking it is irresistible to almost everyone.
I know this for a fact based on one thing.

The basket is finished in no time. There’s never even one piece left standing.

The flavors are so simple but go so perfectly together.
I love ordering it out but homemade garlic bread is so easy to make at home.

Believe me it’s just as delicious, too!

What bread should I use?
There are a lot of different options to use for a great homemade garlic bread.
They key is the compound butter. So once that’s made it can really go on anything.

I used Italian bread here but French, sourdough, ciabatta, or even plain white bread slices work just fine.

Homemade garlic butter ingredients

- Italian bread
- Butter (room temperature)
- Garlic minced
- Dried oregano
- Garlic powder
- Salt
- Pepper
- Fresh parsley
- Olive oil
Instructions
First, slice the Italian bread horizontally down the middle.

Then slice each piece down vertically.

Now in a small bowl, add room temperature butter.

Then add the garlic and all the seasonings.

Next add the fresh chopped parsley.

Drizzle with olive oil.

Then stir everything together until it’s evenly combined.

After that, place the bread cut side up onto a baking sheet.

Then spread the butter evenly only each piece of bread.

Place it in the oven and bake the bread for about 15 minutes at 375°.

Bake the bread until it’s nice and toasty on the outside and the butter is melted on top.

Lastly, slice the bread about 2” thick and serve warm or room temperature.

- baking sheet
Ingredients
- 1 loaf Italian bread
- 1 stick Butter (room temperature)
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp oregano, dried
- 2 tbs fresh parsley, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbs olive oil
Instructions
- preheat the oven to 375.
- slice the Italian bread down the middle vertically then again horizontally. This will make 4 pieces. Place them cut side up on a baking sheet.
- in a small bowl, stir together the butter, garlic, fresh parsley and all of the seasonings.
- Spread the butter mixture evenly over the top of each piece of bread
- Bake for about 15 minutes or until the bread is toasted and the butter is melted.
- Slice and enjoy!
